KNAPP Skid Steer Levelling Bars,  Level More. Do More. Faster.

If you're spending half your day cleaning up after your machine instead of making progress, a KNAPP skid steer levelling bar is going to change your operation. Whether you're calling it a skid steer levelling bar, a Bobcat level, a levelling bar, or a level spreading bar,  you're looking for the same thing: a fast, effective way to grade and spread material using your skid steer or compact loader. That's exactly what KNAPP builds.

What Is a Skid Steer Levelling Bar?

A skid steer levelling bar (also known as a skid steer level or spreader or Bobcat leveling bar) is a ground-engaging attachment that you pick up with your 4-in-1 bucket. As you drive forward or backward, the bar drags across the surface, cutting down high spots and pushing or spreading material into low areas to create a flat, even grade.

Unlike a bucket, which scoops and carries material, a levelling bar works the surface,  making it ideal for final grading passes, spreading aggregate, levelling driveways, preparing building pads, and finishing any surface that needs to be flat and even. The result is a cleaner, more accurate grade than you'd get trying to finesse the same job with a standard bucket.

KNAPP levelling bars are New Zealand made, built for the demands of real worksites, and engineered to attach to the most common skid steer quick-attach systems without modification.

Compatible with All Major Skid Steer Brands

KNAPP levelling bars are designed to work with any skid steer loader, including:

Bobcat · Caterpillar · Case · John Deere · Takeuchi · Mustang · Gehl · Terex · ASV · Kobelco · New Holland · Hyundai · Finn · Hydra-Mac · Komatsu · JCB · Vermeer · Thomas · Melroe · Toyota

Whether you're running a small skid steer or dingo on a residential landscaping job or a larger Bobcat or Skid Steer on a civil construction site, KNAPP has you covered. If you're unsure about compatibility with your specific machine model, call us on 021 781 205 and we'll sort it out quickly.

What Can You Use a Skid Steer Levelling Bar For?

The short answer: anywhere you need a flat, even surface and you want to get there fast. Common applications include:

Driveway levelling and preparation,  spread and grade gravel, metal, or compacted material for a smooth, even driveway surface. A levelling bar makes light work of what would otherwise take multiple passes with a bucket and a lot of hand raking.

Building site preparation,  level pads and platforms ahead of concrete pours, shed slabs, or foundation work. Getting the surface right before you build saves time and headaches later.

Lawn and landscaping preparation,  spread topsoil or fine material evenly before laying turf or seeding. Achieve a consistent, level finish that a bucket simply can't replicate.

Paddock and farm work,  level paddocks, tracks, and race surfaces quickly. The levelling bar covers ground fast and leaves behind a finish that's ready to use.

Horse arenas and sports surfaces,  spread and grade sand, bark, or arena material for consistent depth and an even, safe surface.

Aggregate and gravel spreading,  distribute material evenly across large areas without the repeated back-and-forth of bucket work.

General civil and earthworks finishing,  use the levelling bar as a final pass tool after bulk earthmoving, tidying up the surface and cutting off any remaining high points before compaction.

Why Choose a KNAPP Levelling Bar?

New Zealand made. KNAPP attachments are manufactured in New Zealand for New Zealand conditions. That means heavier gauge steel, better weld quality, and engineering that reflects what actually happens on Kiwi worksites,  not what gets specified in a factory overseas.

Built for productivity. The whole point of a skid steer level is to save you time. KNAPP levelling bars are designed to cover ground efficiently, working material into low spots and cutting down high spots in fewer passes. Less time grading means more time getting the job done.

Fits your machine. As the Levelling Bar is picked up using your 4-in-1 budget, it is  compatible with the full range of skid steers and compact loaders brands meaing you're not buying a bar that needs adapters or modification.

Tough enough for the work. These aren't lightweight attachments that bend or distort under load. KNAPP levelling bars are built to handle the forces involved in ground-engaging work day after day.

Local support. When you buy from KNAPP, you're dealing with a New Zealand manufacturer,  not an importer with a call centre somewhere else. If you have a question, need a custom size, or want to talk through the right spec for your job, call KNAPP on 021 781 205.

Bobcat Level & Levelling Bar,  Common Search Questions

What's the difference between a levelling bar and a grading bucket? A grading bucket scoops, carries, and dumps material. A skid steer levelling bar or Bobcat leveling bar works the surface,  dragging across it to redistribute material rather than move it in bulk. For final grading and spreading work, the levelling bar gives a flatter, more consistent result.

Will a skid steer levelling bar work with my Bobcat? Yes. KNAPP levelling bars have lifting lugs to pick them up using your 4-in-1 budget meaning they are  compatible with Bobcat and all other major skid steer brands. Call us with your machine model if you want to confirm fitment before ordering.

Can I use a levelling bar for spreading gravel on a driveway? Absolutely. A level spreading bar on a skid steer is one of the most efficient ways to spread and grade gravel, metal, or compacted aggregate on a driveway surface. You'll get a more even spread and a flatter finish than you would working with a bucket.

Do I need any special hydraulic connections? Standard KNAPP levelling bars are passive attachments,  they don't require hydraulic connections beyond standard quick-attach mounting.

Can KNAPP make a custom width levelling bar? Yes. Custom fabrication is one of KNAPP's core capabilities. If you need a specific width to suit your machine or your job, get in touch and we can discuss what's involved.
